The story
Jharokha Stone belongs to Artisan Editions. Our most ambitious hand-knotted designs — larger in scale, finer in detail and made in small numbers. The design pairs an ogee trellis repeating quietly across the field, with small blossoms at each junction with a palette of grey and ivory.

Wool & Silk. Wool body with silk highlights for contrast of sheen.
Vacuum gently; professional cleaning recommended.
Craft
Hand Knotted. Each knot tied individually around the warp threads, then clipped and washed. The most time-intensive and durable construction.
Asymmetric knot, cotton foundation, silk highlights.
Hand-knotted rugs are made knot by knot on an upright loom, then washed, clipped and finished by hand. Slight variations in tone (abrash) and in dimensions of up to 2–3% are natural signatures of this process.
Handmade variation — a shift in tone, a slightly irregular edge — is the character of the process, not a defect.
Care
Vacuum gently; professional cleaning recommended. Rotate every six to twelve months to even out wear and light exposure. Professional cleaning every two to three years. Use a rug pad to keep the piece flat and in place.

Beautiful craftsmanship
You can feel the handwork. Slight tonal variation across the field makes it feel alive.
In talim-based workshops the coded pattern is traditionally read or chanted aloud so that several weavers on one loom can tie their knots in the same sequence.
