Chandra Opal

Chandra Opal belongs to Modern Mineral. Agate contours, river-stone forms and polished surfaces in wool and silk blends — geology as ornament. The design pairs contour lines that recall cut agate and river stone with a palette of ivory and grey.

Hand Tufted. Yarn punched through a stretched backing cloth with a hand-held tufting tool, then latexed, backed and sheared.

Hand-tufted rugs are made by punching yarn through a stretched backing cloth with a hand-held tool, then sheared and finished by hand. Small variations in pile height and colour are part of the handmade character.

Handmade variation — a shift in tone, a slightly irregular edge — is the character of the process, not a defect.

Professional cleaning only; avoid high-traffic, damp areas. Some shedding is normal in the first months and settles with regular vacuuming. Professional cleaning recommended. Use a rug pad to keep the piece flat and in place.
