The story

Materials

Wool. Naturally resilient, soil-resistant and warm underfoot.
Vacuum without a beater bar; blot spills immediately.
Craft
Dhurries. Traditional Indian flat-woven rugs, historically cotton, now also made in wool and jute.
Flat-woven, weft-faced; reversible.
Woven by hand on a loom. The weft may show gentle irregularities in tension and tone — a natural result of hand weaving, not a flaw.
Handmade variation — a shift in tone, a slightly irregular edge — is the character of the process, not a defect.
Care
Vacuum without a beater bar; blot spills immediately. Shake out or vacuum on both sides; many flatweaves are reversible and can be turned to even out wear. Use a rug pad to keep the piece flat and in place.

Lovely, a little shedding
Some shedding in the first weeks as expected, now settled. Very happy overall.
Vivaan J. ·
Nice but darker than expected
Good quality, though the tone is deeper than it looked on my screen. Kept it.
Salawas, a village on the outskirts of Jodhpur in Rajasthan, is known for its panja dhurrie weaving tradition, which local accounts trace back several centuries.
